FAQ
-
OV is selective.
Members have typically spent meaningful time overseas, bring an international outlook and speak good English. Most are Vietnamese professionals building serious careers who value being part of a thoughtful, supportive network.
OV is not a fit for people looking for casual networking or a passive community. Members are expected to show up, contribute and support others.
-
Every application is reviewed by our team and usually followed by a short conversation.
We look at a combination of factors: a person’s background, trajectory, mindset and how they might contribute to the network. There is no single checklist. Decisions are made holistically.
Our goal is simple: to build a thoughtful group of Vietnamese professionals who benefit from knowing each other and who actively support the community.

Membership gives you full access to the OV network and its platform:
Network – The OV app and private member space where members connect, chat and help each other. Includes a global directory to connect directly with members across industries and countries.
Gatherings – Local meetups, virtual sessions, our annual Vietnam Summit
Opportunities – Roles shared on our job board, investment deals through OV Ventures, opportunities circulating between members
Access to Vietnam – Stay close to what’s happening in Vietnam and connect with people, companies and opportunities on the ground
Members can ask the network for advice, introductions or perspective and usually hear back within hours. Members are also first to hear about opportunities shared inside the network.
In short: people, opportunities and Vietnam. All in one network.
-
OV is a paid membership by design. A strong network requires commitment.
Members join because they want to be part of the network, not because it’s free. That filters for intent and consistently leads to more active participation, higher trust and stronger relationships.
It also gives the OV team the resources and skin in the game to keep building the platform, increase the membership value and invest in the network over time.
-
We share the current pricing with applicants once we move forward in the application process.
Many members expense the membership through their company or startup as a professional development or networking cost.
OV meetups are part of the membership. Members typically just cover their own food or drinks. Larger gatherings, such as the OV Summit, are offered to members at cost.
If the membership fee is a concern, we’re happy to talk. We’re building OV thoughtfully and want membership to make sense for the right people.
-
Ongoing.
Membership is available quarterly or annually, with most members choosing the annual option.
We don’t offer free trials. The minimum commitment is three months, which gives members time to join a city meetup, meet other members and get a real sense of the network. Most who start quarterly later switch to the annual membership.
Membership continues until you decide to leave. It can be managed anytime in your account.

OV is designed for busy professionals: high signal, low noise, focused.
Some members check the OV app daily, stay active in their city chat and join conversations across the network. Others simply follow the weekly summary emails and engage when something is relevant.
Members choose which conversations, topics, sessions and events they want to participate in.
Mentorship and mastermind circles involve monthly meetings and being available to the partner or group.
Like any network, the more you put in, the more you get out. OV is there whenever you need it.
-
OV is a global network. Members join even if there isn’t a local chapter yet.
Much of the value works regardless of location: mentorship, mastermind circles, the OV app and digital community, introductions across the network and conversations with members around the world.
Many members also use OV when traveling or to stay connected to Vietnam and the opportunities there.
We’re constantly expanding into new cities. Several chapters are led by members. We’re always open to members who want to help start or grow a local community.

Applications are reviewed carefully and responses typically take about 2-3 weeks, sometimes longer.
If you haven’t heard back after 8 weeks, it likely means we didn’t move forward with the application at this time. You’re welcome to apply again in the future, especially if something meaningful has changed such as a new role, updated LinkedIn profile or additional context in your application.
If you know someone who is already a member of OV, you can also ask them to nominate you. Member nominations are prioritized and move faster through the review process.
